With it's exquisite style, massive beer selection and scrumptious menu, The Hop in Beacon New York, has really set the bar. Owners Chris Kavanaugh, John Kelly and Chef Matt Hutchins set out to create a classy spin on your everyday, local bar by providing guests with a 4-star menu, featuring The Huff n' Puff Burger, Rabbit and Raisin Terrine, and Bacon Beignets (not your typical bar grub). As glorious as the menu, the bar is equipped with 16 beers on tap!! And no, you can't find Budweiser or Pabst in that line up, instead they carry Peekskill, Ommegang, Southern Tier and Clown Shoes (all local breweries), to name a few. And their retail section, which lies adjacent to the main room, includes an enormous selection of hand picked beers and ciders from our region and beyond.
The Hop also features art from local artists, hand-crafted tables from a Beacon wood-worker, and the largest bar in the Hudson Valley, designed and built by owner Chris Kavanaugh. So wether you just want to sit at the bar and drink a few beers (be sure to try anything by Peekskill), or you are meeting friends for a bite to eat, The Hop is definitely where you'll want to go. But don't take my word for it, check it out your self.
